Bears Return To NCAA’s Thanks To Walk-Off Win In Dallas

Bears were down 3-0 after one but they’d battle back, with some help here in the sixth. Landan Ruff pops up the bunt but the pitcher can’t make the play. That scores Hunter Steinmetz and the games tied at 4-4.

In the eighth the Patriots would retake the lead. As Jameson Hannah ropes a triple down the right field line. That plates two runs and it’s 6-4 DBU.

We go to the bottom of the ninth Bears with the last at bats since they are the top seed. And Jeremy Eierman comes to the plate with one on. He Crushes a breaking ball, two run homer. And Eierman comes up with another big hit in the post-season. This game’s tied.

We go to extras and in the tenth, it’s John Privitera’s turn to play hero. Base hit brings in the tournament winning run.

Bears win the Valley regular season and now the tournament. They are off to the NCAA’s and coach Keith Guttin says Eierman was a big reason why.

"He was upset with himself, he had some at bats earlier in the game that he didn’t like. That was obviously the most important one, which usually comes the last one in the game and he took care of it. We’ve had some great games, we have a lot of respect for them, I’m hoping that they take two MVC teams and they get in as well," said Keith Guttin.
